Onenote to Joplin import problems

What issue do you have?

I have exported my onenote notebook (using OneNote for Windows) into a onepkg file and now try to import it into Joplin (MacOS). I choose import "Onenote ONE Notebook", but cannot select the onepkg file in the finder window for import (it's grayed out). Are there any known issues with the import? The onpkg file is 1.95 GB.

As of Joplin 3.5.x, importing onepkg files is only available on Windows.

Options include:

  • Upgrading to the 3.6.x pre-release, which can import onepkg files on MacOS.
  • Transferring and importing the individual .one files on MacOS.

I get the following error all the time with the 3.6.8 pre-release on MacOS when importing the onepkg file, see screenshot

The message translates to:

“An error occurred: Window is not responding.”

Buttons:

  • Ignorieren → Ignore

  • Neustart im abgesicherten Modus → Restart in Safe Mode

  • Beenden → Quit
