Joplin desktop does not synch in Linux Mint

Operating system

Linux

Joplin version

3.0.14

Desktop version info

Joplin 3.0.14 (prod, linux)

Client ID: b0e94464c4354463a085e19b2ca05429
Sync Version: 3
Profile Version: 47
Keychain Supported: No

Revision: 05cf51e

Backup: 1.4.1

Sync target

Nextcloud

What issue do you have?

LM 21.3 Cinnamon, Edge update

In my older version of Joplin synchronization worked flawlessly.

Got the message that my Joplin version is too old to synch.

I installed an update via the recommended terminal command:

wget -O - https://raw.githubusercontent.com/laurent22/joplin/master/Joplin_install_and_update.sh | bash

Now I have v. 3.0.14

After installation all looks fine; old data to be seen. However, Joplin does not synch. Neither up to the NextCloud server nor down.

Synchronization settings
Synchronization target: NextCloud
WedDAV URL : path to my NextCloud followed by /remote.php/dav/files/name/JoplinSynch where "name" is my NextCloud loggin name, " JoplinSynch" is the folder containg the Joplin data

Check synchronization configuration gives following message:

Error. Please check that URL, username, password, etc. are correct and that the sync target is accessible. The reported error was:
path to my NextCloud followed by /remote.php/dav/files/name/JoplinSynch/ failed, reason: (Code ETIMEDOUT)

I re-entered all information several time using for name and password copy&paste => same error message

I can enter my NextCloud via web browser and the NextCloud add-on to Nemo file manager works fine.

What is the problem?
What did I do wrong?
What do I need to check?
What do I need to change?

Thanks in advance for helpful replies.

Thank you for reporting this!

A fix for a similar (possibly the same) timeout issue should be in the 3.1.3 pre-release. It should also be included in a 3.0.x release in the near future.

Note: If you decide to upgrade to the v3.1.3 pre-release, be sure to create a backup of your data first!

Thanks for your explanation!

I understand that I have to wait for the next release of 3.0.x.
How is this announced?
Where can I get this improved version?
Can the same Linux command be used to install this update?
How long could this take?

3.1.3 Pre-release
What means latest-linux.yml? I don't understand "yml"
How can I make a backup to my data?
How can I install the pre-release in Linux Mint (based on Ubuntu)?

I installed 3.0.15 and synchronization does not work. Error message remains the same.

Am I the only one who has this problem? I did not find any post reporting the same problem?

Is pre-release 3.1.3 really the solution?

Thanks in advance for helping comments.

I installed now pre-release 3.1.4. Again the same situation as described at the beginning of the thread.

I appreciate a lot helping comments to find the real issue and countermeasure.

As neither v 3.0.15, nor 3.1.4 synchronizes, I consider to uninstall Joplin completely and make a new installation.

Questions:
1 How do I need to uninstall Joplin in Linux Mint?
2 Which version would have the better chance to run properly - 3.0.15 or 3.1.4?

Thanks in advance for helping comments.
