I am Prathima B, an undergraduate student in the department of Computer Science and Engineering at PES University, India.
I have prior experience in building desktop apps using electron, and have good coding skills in javascript as well. I am an amateur in React/React Native.
I am very interested to work on one of the following ideas:
OCR support
Password protected notes
Search
Custom keyboard shortcuts
I shall get started with some good first issues.

Welcome to the forums. With that introduction, I'm taking it you have already read the GSoC blog or at least its recommended links? I also love how you already have an idea of what you are wanting to work on here too. 
If you have any questions feel free to ask them here and keep checking that blog link for updates. It's frequently going to answer new questions as we go. Also, feel free to search the forums and get acquainted with how Discourse works since many questions you may have will have already been answered here or are at least being discussed.
