Fatal Crash via mismatched Profile Version

Operating system

Linux

Joplin version

3.5.5

Desktop version info

I would, but the app crashes.

What issue do you have?

Desktop app crashes at launch after update. Don't really know what I am doing, but the crash dump mentions a mismatched profile. I tried reinstalling the app from three different sources (chaotic-aur repository, KDE Discover, and the Joplin web AppImage) and they all crash with same error. Figure I need to flush out an old profile after uninstalling, but the two Joplin folders I could find don't seem to matter.

joplin 3.5.x updates the internal profile version from 48 to 49

this error indicates that you had updated to 3.5.x and then downgraded back to 3.4.x (you can see in the error that your current joplin version is 3.4.12).

updating back to 3.5.5 should resolve the error

You can download 3.5.5 from there:

I saw that weirdness(because chaotic-aur claims it is installing 3.5.5) in the error as well, but rather than upgrade through the github I was hoping to remove whatever semblance of 3.5.5 is on my computer so I can rely on the repository for updates again. Just don’t know how to remove the profile.

Thanks. I’ll take a look and update.
