Improved: Removed deprecation notice on OneDrive sync method (ceea0bc)
I see that the OneDrive deprecation has been reversed as implementing it may have been too hasty. However, pCloud? Have they resolved these issues that caused them to be considered incompatible with Joplin? Just wondering what caused the reversal...
I cannot install 3.2.4 - I get "Joplin cannot be closed. Please close it manually and click Retry to continue." But I did close it manually before installing 3.2.4. I looked through the Task Manager (I'm on Windows 10) and do not see any Joplin processes. I also tried rebooting and running the 3.2.4 install first thing before starting anything else, same result. Any suggestions?
That was following a conversation I had at the Open Source Experience - since pcloud is one of the most popular WebDAV provider it would be good to make it work.
It's been two years since we disabled support so maybe these issues have been fixed since then. If not we'll see what we can do and maybe contact pcloud about it
Yes, I’ve never had a problem installing the new versions until this one. (I install each new one when the notification comes.) I closed Joplin, checked Task Manager to see if anything was running, rebooted, and got the same message every time. I don’t want to uninstall the existing version that works fine.
First Reminder to @laurent@JackGruber dpoulton ymzk64 cleterrier You Are Awesome. And Again We appreciate You for developing native Joplin muliple window feature.
We are getting same update error here, We are unable to update from previous version to this 3.2.4 version but we are able to make a fresh install. When trying to update to 3.2.4, the top dialog error appears then when you hit retry, same top dialog repeats. When you hit cancel, you get the bottom dialog error
I just got the same error trying to update to 3.2.5.
I have Joplin installed as a per-user application rather than through admin. When I start the update, it recognizes that and says it will reinstall/update it, but then the "cannot be closed" error appears. This occurs even after a reboot and I checked that there is no instance of Joplin running.
same - I cannot install 3.2.5. @laurent is there some logging or other diagnostic I can gather that will help figure out why these latest versions are not working?
Does the same problem happen after you restart your computer?
Did you try manually uninstalling the app first?
What if you manually delete the Joplin files in Program Files first?
Something else to try is to manually delete the relevant keys in the Registry, but I don't know exactly where they are (somewhere in HKEY_CURRENT_USER)
I have been experiencing the same problem. I have 3.2.3 installed and cannot successfully run the 3.2.4 or 3.2.5 installer even though Joplin isn't running AFAIK.
