although I can ctrl-c ctrl-v text, and I just thought it was my other computer. but, why can’t I select and rclick to get a prompt to cut / copy / paste? is there some other supporting package I need to install?

Not currently but it’s indeed a bit strange it’s not supported. Feel free to create an issue about it on GitHub so that it gets tracked.
