Tried it on my Samsung A53 but uninstalled it after 10 minutes! The app screen covers up too much and the edit toolbar is gone. Waiting for the next release.

@antoonvdr Can you raise bugs for those issues please, with a bit more detail? I'm not experiencing either of those problems based on your basic description of the issues

That's indeed a known issue which we are working to fix

@mrjo118 The same effect is experienced here on Android with Joplin 3.4.1, where the Joplin app extends to cover the notification bar, illustrated below on a Google Pixel 7, Android version 16.

Both the Android OS status icons and the Joplin icons are unresponsive to touch.

Thanks for all the good work!

Glad that laurent is already aware of it, but just for mrjo118 here a screen shot of the opening screen:

See how the topbar of Joplin covers up the time, notifications, battery level etc.
Also at the bottom of the screen the app covers up the phone menu:

It gets worse while in editing mode where the toolbar is hidden:

Hope that explains my comments. I don't know whether it is just on my Samsung Galaxy A53...

Ok maybe just an Android 16 and possibly 15 issue. No issue for me on Android 14

Same overlapping issue with Samsung: Android 15, OneUI 7

In longer notes, the end of the note is hiding behind the keyboard while editing.

When I tried to edit the note with the version info (see below), this is what I saw:

Joplin Mobile 3.4.2 (prod, android)

Device: android
Client ID: 1bee299bbe71482f869e43b2c5a3468d
Sync Version: 3
Profile Version: 47
Keychain Supported: No
Alternative instance ID: -

Revision: 8b912b22c (dev)

Admonition markdown extension: 1.1.0
Bidirectional Links: 0.2.1
Embed Search: 2.0.0
Import local CSS: 1.0.3
Joplin Calendar: 1.2.0
Journal: 2.0.0
Suitcase: 0.4.0

Android API level: 35
WebView version: 138.0.7204.158
WebView package: com.google.android.webview
FTS enabled: 1
Hermes enabled: 1

It’s not possible to scroll any further down while the keyboard is present?

Also do you have the markdown toolbar disabled, or is it hidden due to the bug?

Ok, I’ve reproduced the issue on Android 16 using an emulator. I’ve raised issue Android: On screen keyboard covers the markdown toolbar and contents on Android 16 · Issue #12821 · laurent22/joplin · GitHub

Another possible bug: I am not able to toggle between notes and todo. The “Convert to todo” and “Convert to note”, see below, is not working.

Yeah, also a bug. Created issue Mobile: Converting a note to a todo and vice versa does not work · Issue #12822 · laurent22/joplin · GitHub

I was trying to revert back to version 3.3.11 on my phone as I did after trying v3.4.1 but I now get an error message that it is impossible? Am I out of luck?

We rapidly release new versions when there's a problem so normally it's not necessary to downgrade. I've only used pre-releases for 9 years and never been in a situation where i need to downgrade

Yeah it’s always been not possible to downgrade app versions on Android, no idea how you managed to do it before.

You would have to uninstall the app and then install an older version to do this, which would mean you have to set up your Joplin sync again, as if it were a new client

Very excited to see the new upgrade.

However, none of the installed plugins are working now :frowning: These are the ones I have on my Android 15, One UI 7.0:

Admonition markdown extension v1.1.0
Embed Search v2.0.0
Suitcase v0.4.0
Journal v2.0.0
Bidirectional links v0.2.1
Import local CSS v1.0.3
Hotstrings & Hotkeys v1.0.0

I will have to start a re-install of 3.3…

Hmm, yes I’m seeing this too. I don’t use plugins as part of my workflow, but I do install the Joplin batch plugin on mobile on demand, for if I want to clean up orphaned resources. I literally tested that it still works in 3.4.2 just a couple of days ago (and it did) because I saw an issue raised with some plugins not working. Since upgrading to 3.4.3 there is now nowhere in the UI to access any of the plugin functionality
