AI features mentioned prematurely in the documentation?

What issue do you have?

Unless I am reading it incorrectly, the main documentation seems to suggest that Joplin has a built in MCP server and Embedded Search feature labelled as "AI Features":

But I don't see this option in the latest version of the Desktop app on the Mac and a quick search suggests that this is a GSOC feature that is still under development.

Is the presence of this information in the main documentation slightly premature? Or is there something I am missing?

Thanks.

@uth6287b4 welcome to the forum.

I believe that the AI features have been added to the 3.7.x version of Joplin. You can see the features being mentioned / added in this post..

v3.7.x is currently only available as a pre-release with the full release due to be published in the first week of September.

I would guess that the documentation is currently also being updated along with the app.

Ah I see! That makes perfect sense, and in fact the release schedule is really well documented at those links you pointed me to! Thank you, I should have look at that earlier.

Thanks again for your reply. Now I know I can try out the pre-release if I want to get it early.

Be careful There has been a significant change in how Joplin syncs data in the 3.7.x pre-release. If you use sync and install a pre-release on any of your computers / phones you will have to install a 3.7.x pre-release on all your other devices for sync to work.
