I have been using (paid) Evernote for almost a decade, and now I'm looking for greener pastures
I don't like the way the ownership is evolving and I'm looking for a replacement which would provide enhanced privacy and also more independence from a commercial venture.
Joplin is high on my list, as are Obsidian and (surprise!) Apple Notes, even though I would have to leave Android and buy my first iPhone!! (my desktop has been Mac for over a decade as well, but I have no problems combining it with the Android mobile platform).
In Joplin I mainly miss OCR (Search) in images and pdf; essential additions I'd say!
