This is effectively a rebase and update of #3458. Based on roman-r-m/joplin@3b36f6eb61dc47d34e3368db97473d052f11724d - thanks @roman-r-m. - Instead of manually maintaining the list of recent notes, it now queries the database for top 10 notes by `updated_time`.

Is there a way a relatively novice Android user without root could implement that unfinished widget? Like, compile an apk on Windows?

I suggest opening an issue in that fork asking the author to share the apk.

I imagine for android novice it might take quite a while to setup the environment for compilation.
