What's with this weird highlighting for footnotes in the markdown editor?

Issue

For some reason, the first word after a footnote is blue as if it's a link. I thought it might've been caused by a plugin at first, but I turned them all off and it's still happening. I also tried disabling every Markdown option that wasn't footnotes, to no avail.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or what.

I suspect it is being highlighed as a link reference definition. If footnotes are turned on then I think Joplin should probably be checking for the ^ character that marks it as a footnote and not a reference link.
