# What is the Cloud end 2 end encryption good for?

Ok i know what end 2 end encryption does.  
my question is more about, in what situation is it any good when it comes to joplin.  
If i choose to sync Joplin through one drive or dropbox.  
will the encryption help me protect my privacy?

If you sync through Dropbox or OneDrive a complete copy of all your data is actually stored on Dropbox or OneDrive.

E2E encryption makes sure all that data is unreadable to the folks that run those services.
