What is Hermes?

Go to Joplin -> Configuration -> More information

In the area of the Joplin version, there is "Hermes enabled" with a value of 0 or 1 beside it.

I've found a few mentions in Github issues. They seem to be from copy-pastes of environment settings to troubleshoot other issues. Nothing so far on Hermes itself.

Anyone here know?
