# Unhide from taskbar

I have Joplin running permanently, and it displays an icon in the Mate taskbar. A click on the icon re-opens the running Joplin.

After upgrading my system from Fedora/Mate 27 to Fedora/Mate 29, Joplin no longer opens when I click the taskbar icon. Now I need to right-click and choose ‘Open Joplin’.

Other applications that are in the taskbar (e.g. claws-mail, ownCloud), still open normally on a single click.

Is there anything we can do to get the normal behaviour back?

works fine with 1.0.135 on arch/kde, must be closely related to mate ☹

There’s already a [github issue](https://github.com/laurent22/joplin/issues/1277) detailing what you’re experimenting, it looks like this might be a very complicated problem.
