Tabbed layout feature

With additional plugins each taking up a panel, the writing area is getting smaller. Would be great to be able to overlay multiple panels by tabs so that they can use the same area.

Is there any discussions about this?

This is the core function that an editor should have. Our previous joplin plugin completed based on vscode can do this ( You can even split tabs arbitrarily)

Yes, that would be cool. Otherwise each plugin probably will implement this functionality on their own with duplicated code.

A feature I also would like to use is doing multiple searches without overwriting the previous search.
This might be realized by creating a tab, which also has its own search window and note list.

(Note that Joplin can only be opened once)
