All my notes on a mac boo pro app are unable to be decrypted, as are some on my android phone. I've tried to changed the master password but I'm not able to (see screenshot) but I'm not told why this is.
I was using the same encryption password across all devices two days ago. I thought it'd probably be a good idea to change the master encryption password to see what happened but I'm not able to change the master encryption password.
I have no idea why. I thought it might be because the strong password I generated was too long so I tried a simple short password, but that didn't work either.
This is usually a user issues (i.e., me) but I'm struggling to work out what I'm doing wrong here.
I really want to move away from Evernote and support an opensource note taking app, but until I'm confident I can make it all work I'm reluctant to pay a monthly fee. I am happy to persevere until I get this right !
Seems like some bug that changing master password doesn’t work reliably (not the first time this is mentioned). The question is, does the old password work, so that you can recover your data?
I'm not sure, is the answer. Apparently my master password is valid, according to the screenshotted page, but the Save button in the red box does nothing when I press it after inputting the password.
You see the ‘show disabled keys’ link under the Encryption keys section? If you click that, are there any disabled keys there? If there is, see if you can enable it and whether either your old or new password can be entered there
