# Statistics: close window with Esc, Enter, and/or same keybind that opens it

Current state: When I open note statistics via Tools \> Statistics... there is no way to close it except by clicking on the Close button with the mouse.

Desired:

- Allow for closing the note statistics window by pressing Esc.
- Allow for closing the note statistics window by pressing Enter.
  - Currently pressing Enter types inside the current note, see [Wrong "visual" focus in Note Statistics](https://discourse.joplinapp.org/t/wrong-visual-focus-in-note-statistics/21172) for further details

- Allow for closing the note statistics window by pressing the same keybind that is set to open it.
