Currently whenever a note is edited locally within a few seconds it is synced to the remote sync client (regardless of Synchronisation Interval setting).
I run my sync client as Nextcloud container on unRAID, and the constant sync when I edit Joplin notes keeps causing my parity and data disk to spin up.
It would be great if a synchronisation interval could also be defined for local to remote syncs so I can delay these updates (I appreciate the risk of data loss but that’s a personal choice).
Unfortunately manual only sync is not supported. It’s been requested before and was rejected.
Either manual or an automatic one would be great.
Not sure what happens on here, do we wait for a developer to reply and reject/accept the feature request?
Sorry, I answered too generically when I said manual sync. But configuration of outgoing change sync interval is not supported for the same reasons as why support for fully manual sync was rejected. In summary, if outgoing sync can be configured to not happen quickly, it has potential to be misused by users who don’t know the implications, which will cause more support requests if they experience lots of conflicts / data loss.
