Question re: Backup-Plugin vs. JEX-Export

What issue do you have?

Just wondering: the backup-plugin offers me the possibility to backup my data into a single "all notebooks" JEX file. Is that result identical to what I get when using the EXPORT function in the FILE menu with the JEX export there?
Currently I am using both (plugin does it automatically; the export I need to do manually), and I'm wondering if I can skip the export ...

Yes, with the backup to a single JEX file it is the same as the export from the menue.

Does the JEX file maintain the note history? I thought I read here on the forum previously that the history wasn't saved/kept in JEX files.

No of the export (JEX, MD, RAW, ...) contains the history.
