Thank you for this initiative. For me, the Double click will toggle editor out when in View Mode option does not work. It's like an infinite loop where the plugin tries to activate/deactivate the "view" mode. I should mention that in the general settings of Joplin I only alternate between the editor and the viewer.

Just downloaded 1.2.2 and it is working nicely with the toggle out to editor function, thank you for adding it.
One thing I have noticed is that it doesn't seem to like code blocks in various forms:

Inline code blocks on double click seems to make the cursor jump to the previous section even when after normal text
Fenced code blocks don't seem to work at all

On the other hand, indented code blocks work just fine

Yes, I don't have a good idea to handle Fenced code for some reasons. If anyone can help, PRs are welcome

It's a bit odd. You can see in the gif that sometimes things don't quite line up right. Sometimes I can double click the inline code and the cursor goes to the right place but the highlight doesnt. Other times it goes to the wrong line entirely but if you double click again without moving anything else it will change the cursor position. Hope the gif is clear enough.

I like this plugin! It would be better if it will show a mark on the scrollbar (just like the search mark which appear on the scrollbar when searching a word with ctrl+f). Or, add a method that can directly jump to the exact location on the render viewer.

Besides, I saw you have a question about the line-break. That is about the setting on preference > markdown:

Its worth noting that there is a merged PR that I don't think is in a full release yet (but you can test if you build Joplin yourself) that synchronises the scrolling better so that this shouldn't be necessary

I'm not sure I understand the argument about it being "too fast". The speed depends on which pane you are scrolling.

Is there any way to make the highlighting more legible in dark themes?

I regularly switch between light and dark themes so I need visibility in both conditions. I tried using a darker color for the highlighting which worked, but when I switched to a light theme the text became less legible there.

Edit: I'm also noticing reliability issues with the plugin itself at times.

It doesn't always highlight the selected section correctly:

Double clicking also doesn't jump to the correct section a lot of the times.

Haven't been able to identify the cause though and restarting Joplin seems to fix it.

@shbach Hi, I just update this plugin to 2.0.1. It's a totally rewrite so there would be no more bug like incorrect highlight.

As for dark mode, I add an extra class name for highlighted line so you can set its appearence by userstyle.css. Check the doc for details.

This plugin is one of my "essentials", but maybe I have found an issue. I am on version 2.0.4 of the plugin, WIndows Joplin version 2.7.14.

When a note consists of a pdf, it shows nothing in edit mode, which is to be expected, and it shows a preview now in display mode, which is good.

However, if I select a different note that also consists of a pdf (or maybe that just includes a pdf), while in display mode, it locks Joplin up so I have to kill it via Task Manager.

If I switch to edit mode before selecting a different note, and then toggle back to display mode, it works fine.

The plugin does not work for me on the latest Joplin v3.1.20 (win32, prod).

No row highlighting happens in view-only mode when editing the corresponding text section in the write block.
It only highlights text on the view-only side of the MD editor when I double-tap the text.
