On MacOS, there is no tools > options.

There is a Joplin > Settings > Keyboard Shortcuts, but the "Create note overview" keyboard shortcut is disabled. I tried setting it to something, but it would not take. It had a symbol as I typed.

I finally did find Joplin > Settings > Plugins > Note Overview, but there is no keyboard-shortcuts setting. There are other settings.

Seems like the options menu of Joplin is named differently under macOS. But oplin > Settings > Keyboard Shortcuts is correct.

I pressed every modifier key + every regular key and it still doesn't work. Also there is no popup when I move over the . So I know this is not because of a shortcut conflict.

I suspect this is not your bug. I would feel better if someone on this forum can get this to work on macos. I only use 2 plugins so this might be an issue with the plugin framework.

I just tried it with my other plugin (Outline) and it also doesn't work. So - this does not seem to be your bug.

OK - I found the bug and I found the workaround and it truly has nothing to do with you. I have to say the keyboard manager is flakey.

Here is the bug: Joplin itself has a conflict with Hide Joplin, You don't see it until you change a regular shortcut, and it will give you this error message:

So I change Hide Joplin to Cmd-Shift-H and magically the plugins also started working. There is no error message at all if you change a plugin shortcut.

The interesting thing is as I was figuring it out all of the plugin shortcuts disappeared completely (several times) and I had to restart Joplin to get them to come back.

I have to figure out how to file a bug.

Is it possible to search for all notes with unchecked boxes "- " in the note body (not todo type notes)?

I tried: search: "- [ ]" which yields 0 notes, while search: "- [X]" yields hundreds of notes. For certain, there are plenty of unchecked boxes in note bodies, so my search parameter must be incorrect.

Edit: I think I've got it: search: /"- [ ]"

When I change the "created date" on a note, it doesn't reflect in the overview.

When you edit the time stamps, you have to use the user_updated_time and user_created_time, the other both are Joplin internal for the sync.

@JackGruber I wanted to take the time to say thank you for this plugin which is the bedrock of my workflow, and without it I would be, frankly, at sea. It's great to see you're still making updates to it. I have no requests, no features I'd like to see added (beyond perhaps ticking To-Dos off inline but i believe you've covered why that's not possible already), and it's solid as a rock. It just works for me.

Have you got a BuyMeaCoffee or something similiar that you're allowed to publicise? I'm not sure how Joplin's community views donations!!

No, I haven't, because the plugins are actually all used by myself and that's why I developed them

I've read almost all this long thread but I didn't found a solution to my problem:
is there a way to make complex searches in titles like:
search: title:"word1" AND title:"word2"?
If so, what is the correct syntax?
Sorry for my ignorance.

But after reading the search options I can't find a way to use the OR operator for title.
What about searching for title contaning "word1" or "word2"?

Use the any:1 filter for a OR search

This code simply doesn't output anything.
It only works if I remove the notebook tag.
Perhaps it is not possible to use the any tag while searching in notebooks?
I simply would like to search for word1 OR word2 in a specific notebook.

Perhaps I am not using the correct syntax?

With tags its working, but not with the title keyword.
I think you need to create an issue for Joplin for this.

possibly I am missing something from the search syntax, but is there a possibility to search for todos without a due date (for instance if I were to create something like a backlog)?

Tried things like -due:* but that wasn't it ...
