Linux AppImage graphics issue – everything below the menu bar is invisible – workaround

I think this issue started after updating to a version of the Linux Desktop AppImage version 2.12. One day all was good and the next day after opening the app I could not see the text – notebook names or note text etc, below the menu bar.
After trying different things, the only way I found that fixed this was:

  1. Close the Linux desktop application
  2. Navigate to (on my openSUSE machine) the home/(user name)/.config/Joplin directory
  3. Open the GPUCache directory, or folder if you prefer, and delete all the files in there
  4. Restart the Joplin desktop app and everything should be visible again
