I also like this extension for Thunderbird, and just confirmed that it's still working properly for me.

The main differences between your config and mine is that I'm running newer versions than you are.

My Thunderbird version is 115.11, not 115.8.

My Joplin version is 2.14.22, not 2.14.20.

Perhaps upgrading your software to the current release will help.

Another thing to consider is that the Thunderbird plugin uses the web clipper plug-in feature of Joplin and I would suggest installing if you haven't already the Joplin extension for your browser and link it to your Joplin app and see if you are capable of taking Web Clips and having them put into Joplin via the Web Clipper Port. The Thunderbird plug-in is using or trying to use the very same port number that the Web Clipper will use. This Will help you troubleshoot.
