I am mahendra kasula, a second-year CSE student. I am a GSoC 2025 Alum (CCExtractor) and am very excited to contribute to Joplin for 2026.
I have read the GSoC Guide for Joplin and the pull request guidelines. I understand the importance of discussing issues before submitting PRs and the focus on "local-first" privacy.
I am particularly interested in the AI-Powered Semantic Search project. Given my background in Deep Learning and my experience with TypeScript/React, I am interested in exploring how we can implement semantic indexing locally (using tools like Transformers.js) to respect Joplin's privacy-centric model.
I am currently setting up the dev environment and will be looking for a "Good First Issue" to discuss with the maintainers soon.
