We’re happy to share that Joplin has been allocated 5 slots for this year’s Google Summer of Code :tada:

Congratulations to all the selected students, and welcome to the project!

The community bonding period starts today. This phase is all about getting familiar with the project: connecting with mentors, exploring the codebase, discussing ideas in more detail, and refining project plans before the coding phase begins.

  • Akshaj Rawat
Strengthen the security of the plugin ecosystem
    Mentor: Laurent

  • Yugal Kaushik

I'm not seeing this on the program page.

Instead I see "Local Encrypted Vault for Notes & Notebooks", which isn't mentioned here in Discourse.

I hope I'm not missing something. I was looking forward to developments in securing the plugin ecosystem.

Akshaj's original proposal was for note encryption, but because we have 2 candidates with that proposal, he is doing the strengthening the plugin ecosystem project instead
