Hi everyone!
I’m Himanshu Mishra, and I’m very excited to share my first draft proposal for the Password Strength Indicator project for GSoC 2026.
My proposal focuses on integrating zxcvbn-ts to provide offline, zero-knowledge password strength evaluation across both Desktop and Mobile, complete with debouncing to ensure the UI never freezes, and localization for global users.
I would be incredibly grateful for any feedback from the mentors and the community!
I have attached the full draft of my proposal below. Thank you so much for your time, and for being such a welcoming community!

Hello,
Thank you for your draft proposal. Unfortunately we had to remove the idea from the list as described here: https://github.com/joplin/gsoc/pull/16
Please consider creating a new draft proposal based on a different idea or on your own idea.

Thanks for the clarification!
Would it make sense to refine this into a custom proposal idea, or would you recommend starting fresh with a different direction?
Up to you. If you can make a proposal that would take 90 hours then sure
Thanks! I’ve refined the proposal and I’m sharing the updated draft here.
I’ve scoped it with the intention of making it a ~90-hour project, and I believe it can reach that if implemented thoroughly.
I’d really appreciate your feedback on whether you think the scope looks appropriate.
