Would it be possible to add a timeout for the fingerprint lock? For example, Joplin would only re-lock after a user defined number of minutes had elapsed with no activity. Say 5mins default?
I have to go back and forth between different apps to build notes in Jopllin – and it's quite tedious to repeatedly have to unlock it each time I return.
Are you using the Android app or ios? On Android, if you don’t kill the app but just switch to another app only, Joplin should remain unlocked until either the battery optimiser kills the app, or you do. If you find the os kills it too aggressively, you can disable battery optimisations for the app in Android settings
I'm on Android… should have mentioned that.
I changed the battery setting from “Optimised” to “Unrestricted” – which has definitely improved things. The lockout time is now long enough to switch back to Joplin before getting locked out.
