# \[Feature request\] Unify search function

Hey there,

today we have two search options: the classic search bar at the top and "Go to anything".  
These are supposed to do the same search-wise, but have completely different syntax and features.

For example:

- you only can search multiple tags with search bar, not "Go to anything"
- search bar needs syntax `tag:<tag>`, whereas "Go to anything" expects `#<tag>`
- Go to anything offers autocomplete for tag names (this is huge!), search bar does not
- Only search bar allows wildcards like `tag:mytag*`
- ...

I extensively use tags and absolutely love "Go to anything". Its tag autocomplete is a must for me, but searching for only one tag amongst others severely limits its full power.

So what about unifying the search functionality and synax of both components, taking best of two worlds?
