What issue do you have?

After a Clean Install of WIN 11Pro on my primary PC, I reinstalled Joplin. After setting my sync target to Joplin Cloud, I ended up with a duplicate of every Notebook and Note. I didn’t realize the situation and continued to use Joplin on other devices. When using it on my desktop a week later, I saw a duplicate of everything, with a number of notebooks including new notes taken in the space between.

I now need to DeDupe the entire installation. Is there a way to do this other than Manually?

Did you import a jex backup when you setup the sync? That would cause everything to be duplicated

I'll take your thumbs up as confirmation you did import a jex backup. If that is the case, the simplest way to deduplicate would be to do the following steps on one device only:

  1. Sort the all notes notebook by updated_time descending, export the notes modified after the date which your jex backup was created
  2. Use the Victor plugin to delete everything
  3. Import the original jex backup again
  4. Manually migrate changes from your second jex backup into the imported data set
  5. Sync the changes. Make sure the sync completes before touching Joplin on any of your other devices

Finally sync all your other devices pointing to the same data. Do not import a jex backup again, let the sync transfer the changes
