Downloading to an older Mac

Operating system

macOS

Joplin version

3.5.12

What issue do you have?

Is there a version of Joplin that will run on my Mac?
(OS 11.7.11)

Go to Releases · laurent22/joplin · GitHub and try the 3.5.6 or 3.4.x versions. Hope it works for you.

Thank you.

I followed the link given, but all I see are various specs etc. How can I actually download the 3.5.6 version?

Also, once I have it on my Mac, is there a simple way to copy all my notes in Joplin from my Windows 11 computer to my Mac?

You can unfold the Assets section and download the right file for you:

If you have a recent Mac (M1 M2 etc) use the arm64 dmg. If your Mac is old (Intel) go with the mac zip.

If you plan to use 2+ devices simultaneously after your migration, setup sync on all your devices.

If you plan to use only 1 device in the end, no sync needed, just export your data as JEX file and import on your Mac.

Thank you. Hopefully, I'll be able to set things up with this info.
Much appreciated.

Just one final thing: What is the difference between mac.zip and mac.zip.blockmap?

You can ignore the blockmap file, it is a small metadata file.
