Using the current 3.7.16 Windows version.

The new AI Chat Panel documentation states:

"The toolbar icon only appears when **Enable AI features** is on in Settings → AI."

([AI chat panel | Joplin](https://joplinapp.org/help/apps/ai_chat_panel/#opening-the-panel))

This is not the current behavior. The button is visible, regardless of the AI setting.

It was raised as an issue on Github:

[AI Chat button visible regardless of AI features being enabled/disabled · Issue #15924 · laurent22/joplin](https://github.com/laurent22/joplin/issues/15924)

And it looks like there was actually an unmerged PR generated to address it:

[Desktop: Fix AI Chat button visible when AI features disabled by prathamesh04 · Pull Request #15930 · laurent22/joplin](https://github.com/laurent22/joplin/pull/15930)

Either the documentation should be changed to match the actual behavior, or the app should be changed to match the documented behavior.
