I set up 2FA on Duo. Stupidly didn't copy my recovery codes when prompted. Tried logging in with generated code, Joplin cloud said it's invalid. I don't have the recovery code so I'm basically locked out of my account.
Unfortunately it isn’t possible for us to restore access to your account, disable MFA, or retrieve or resend recovery codes.
Allowing MFA to be bypassed or reset based on a support request would expose accounts to social engineering attempts and would significantly weaken the security guarantees provided by MFA. For this reason, we will not make exceptions to this policy.
Regarding the active subscription: while we cannot restore access to the account, we can cancel the subscription to prevent future charges. To do this, we need to verify ownership using the billing information.
Please send your information to this email address:
Full name
Billing address
Last four digits of the credit card used (or other identifying payment information if a different payment method was used)
Once ownership has been confirmed, we will cancel the subscription.
What is Duo running on? It's important for clocks to be sync'd for TOTP computations on both sides to work. Whatever Duo is running on, check with your phone or an online clock. Once sync'd, try Duo again.
My computers are so old that after a reboot, I have to run a clock sync program else they can be off by hours.
