# Deleted large file - tries to sync and fails

Ok - I think I have all of the necessary data posted above no the system and installed version, plus part of the error message that occurs when syncing.

I had one large file (130MB+) International-Tables-of-Data.pdf

It crashed and I decided it was probably too large. So, I exported the file from Joplin on my laptop into MasterPDF, broke the file into two parts, and then added the two parts back into Joplin. Once, both of the two parts were in Joplin - I deleted the original larger file (filename of International-Tables-of-Data.pdf)

Each of the two smaller files upload without incident (86 and 74 MB), it is just this file that I deleted and which is no longer in the individual notebook that keeps crashing. I have shutdown Joplin and restarted it with the same issue - crashes uploading a file that should no longer be part of the system.

Thoughts or suggestions? Many thanks in advance.

If you are able to enter the preferences and your sync-target is up to date, you can try to go to tools—\> options-\> synchronisation-\>Advanced settings-\> Delete local data and re-download from sync target.

But please read the instruction below that button carefully before pushing it!

Perhaps this can help you to ake one step back and try something else.

Thanks for the feedback. I may try that if I hear nothing else back ... I have 12-13 GBs to download ... sooooo ... that would take a bit of time and bandwidth.
