How to clean up the attachment in resource directory after a note has been deleted or the attachment has been updated to more current version?

I read through several similar post in this forum but they don't provide any solution.

I tried tools \> note attachments but it only shows what is linked. It doesn't show what is not linked. I can't even export the list of attachments. If I can do an export for the list, at least I can do a file comparison to clean up the unlinked files.

Cleaning up attachment is such a simple function which everyone is needed. I guess there must be a easy way to do this.

Any help is appreciated.

I am using current version of Joplin and sync with dropbox.

Joplin 2.8.8 (prod, win32)

This might be another tool to do the job:

> Hi there! I enjoyed using Joplin, but currently if a note is deleted, the resources used in the note is not automatically deleted, resulting in orphaned resources. I tried to search around and found an issue on Github: [Potential orphaned resources left on sync target on resource conflict · Issue #5223 · laurent22/joplin (github.com)](https://github.com/laurent22/joplin/issues/5223). One solution is first export all notes to JEX file then reimport. Based on this method, I wrote a small Python script that takes in a JEX file and automatically r…
