Hi all -- I noticed that unfortunately hitting return on the android app doesn't create a new checkbox automatically, like it does on the desktop app. It may seem like a small thing, but it's pretty much the only thing standing in the way of using Joplin for all of my note-taking needs. I found this post from a couple of years ago, but don't see any replies/progress on it:

Should I be posting this here, or as a bug on GitHub? This behavior should be consistent, no?

There were many discussions about this in the past (e. g. [here](https://discourse.joplinapp.org/t/feature-request-list-continuation-on-mobile/1742) or [here](https://discourse.joplinapp.org/t/feature-request-mobile-app-markdown-buttons/1709) and also a [PR](https://github.com/laurent22/joplin/pull/2224) which was merged without this feature done long time ago) but actually I didn't really find something related to Code Mirror 6...so if this isn't a restriction to CM6, it could be worth a feature request...

In the meantime, as a workaround, maybe take a look at this post:

However, as a workaround I've added a shortcut to my keyboard dictionary: - [] (don't forget the space after ] and as a shortcut I used ti (as in todo item) So every time I type ti, - [] shows up in the suggestions. It's not perfect, but better than nothing. wink
