Can sync from desktop app but not from android app

Platforms: Desktop (Pop!_OS 21.04) and Android (v12)
Joplin: On desktop 2.5.12, on Android 2.6.3
Cloud provider: Nextcloud

If I edit a note on the desktop app and sync it, I'm able to pull those updates down to the android app. If I then edit that same note in the android app and sync those new changes, they don't show up in the desktop app.

I've checked that the sync points are the same on both apps. Any thoughts? I also noticed that the android sync goes really fast while the sync on the desktop app is fairly slow.
