Hi, I'm not able to get this to work by conducting the search in the Search box. Including 'tag:' seems to eliminate everything. Is there a different way to conduct the search?
I am assuming that you want to search for a keyword AND a tag at the same time as otherwise you could just click the tag in the sidebar (admittedly searching using the search box for only a tag should still work!)
Using the search box above the note list to search for a note that contains a keyword and a tag it is keyword tag:tagname
. The search is AND by default.
If you are using the GoTo Anything search (cmd+P) then it is keyword #tagname
.
It's working fine for me but I am using Linux and do not have access to a Mac. If you are following the search guide on the Joplin website and it is definitely not working it may be better to open a new support thread for your specific issue. This is an older thread about "Features" and you may get help from other Mac users if they see a new "Support" question. Additionally, creating a new support thread will open a template with some questions about your installation which can sometimes help.
Thank you, this was very helpful.
Ctrl-P, also lists hits inside of PDFs, if you have OCR enabled. Thats great. Not as good as the inline highlighting of Evernote. And when you click on an entry the list disappears. So not easy to go down a list of hits. I wonder if Ctrl-P could be the default search with results listed in the normal search results panel?
Still, the new OCR feature for PDFs and finding Ctrl-P is good enough for me to continue the investigation into switching to Joplin. Highly likely that I'll be with Joplin soon.
Thank you!
