There have been some bug fixes regarding OCR and search (on both mobile and desktop) so please make sure you're using the latest version. And for any support request, please state the version as we can't help without this.
A quick try on my phone shows that OCR data is used as expected in search, so we'll need more details if it doesn't work for you, such as logs or maybe the type of search query you tried.
