Sync ran up huge numbers and then shut down. I started over and it's currently trying again. I had to disable screen timeout so it would get that far. Any idea how to fix this? I do not have that many notes.
So these revisions were ‘backed up’ waiting to be applied? I’ve struggled to get it to sync because they app and screen need to be open to sync. Or, at least, that’s what it looks like.
Yes you have to keep the screen on with the app open, otherwise the sync can’t complete. There’s no way around that.
You might consider setting a lower retention value for the note history, but be aware if you do that then you’ll have to wait for a long sync to upload the revision deletions on all your devices for the initial clean up, as a result of lowering the retention period. So only do that if slow new device setup bothers you a lot, because you’ll spend a lot of time getting everything in sync after changing this, but reap time saving benefits for future device setups.
