What issue do you have?
Joplin Notes is the platform I use during my work activities' research and writing phases.
The process requires me to collect, embed, read, and reference numerous Acrobat files within Joplin Notes. When I read Acrobat manuscripts containing "Front Matter" (Table of Contents, Forward, Contributors, etc.) in Acrobat Reader, Firefox, and many other viewers, the original "Front Matter" Roman Numerals display within the document viewing Window.
However, in Joplin Notes (as well as Chromium-based viewers), the "actual document" page numbers (Roman Numerals for Front Matter pages and Arabic Numerals for pages in the body of the document) do not display. Only the Acrobat PDF "page counter" page numbers appear, while the display of the "actual document" page numbers is hidden (or suppressed from view).
This creates a significant workflow issue in my work because citing and referencing "actual document" page numbers is essential. Having the Acrobat Viewer in Joplin Notes is not only helpful for me; it's essential. Since the Joplin Notes Acrobat Viewer doesn't display the "actual document" page numbers (it only shows the Acrobat Page Counter page numbers), I frequently need to open another app (e.g., Firefox or Acrobat Reader) to find the "actual document" page numbers for cross-reference purposes.
The uploaded screen capture shows the difference between "actual document" page numbers (RED CIRCLE) and the Adobe Acrobat Page Counter display (GREEN CIRCLE). The area where "actual document" page numbers could (or should) display is instead used for a Joplin Notes indexer reference for the Acrobat PDF (BLUE CIRCLE).
Is there any way to get Joplin Notes to show "actual document" page numbers, which content creators (or manuscript editors) like myself need for page number reference or citation purposes? Thanks.
