# About .lnk and portable version

I set up --profile “x: \ xx”.  
But every time I update joplin, .lnk will be recreated, so I need to edit it again.  
SO I want to use the portable version, but it is older than the installed version.

Can you give me a good idea

It can take a while for the links on the Joplin web page to get updated. You can download the latest version directly from GitHub. Below is a link to the “Releases” download section of Joplin’s GitHub.
